So last night I went to sleep at about 1:30am. We got a call at 4:30am. It took a minute to pry my lazy ass out of bed, but I made it. Well I wanted to get up and run, but if I went back to sleep that wasn't going to happen. So I hung around the firehouse for a little while, then went home around 5:30ish, laced up and went for a run.
Running in that early in the mornings is really peaceful. Since the weather is pretty nice, it's still pretty cool out. There's more kids around and buses since school started, but especially since I usually stay off of main roads it's a very chill calm run. I think my pace was pretty decent this morning, but I'm never really sure. Need to get the Nike Plus up and running again.
Although, inspired by the run I had the most productive morning ever. I got home from my run, stretched, showered, packed for my long weekend, emptied the dishwasher, filled the diswasher, took out the trash, cleaned up in the living room, cleaned up in my room and I think that's it. Rather impressive considering I don't usually roll out of bed for work until 7:45.

9/3/08 - 30 laps at LA Fitness
Wanted to make it up for a run, but it just didn't happen. I actually didn't reset my alarm clock after turning it off when I decided to sleep in instead of run. Thankfully we got a call at 7:53, just enough time to run around like a lunatic and make it to work. Whoops.
Decided to go swimming instead of running today. It's a good full body work out, has no impact and I'm hoping it'll help me strengthen up my arms for the firefighting stuff. Plus, you don't get all gross and sweaty. Did five reps of six laps for a total of 30. I'm no Michael Phelps, but I'm a better swimmer than I was a few years ago.

9/2/08 - 45 Minute AM Run
So I kinda fell out of doing this for a while. I was busy, moved, lost track of my nano thingie and then just said hell with it and ran without the tracking. Well, the marathon is coming up in like two months and I'd prefer to run it without dying, so I'm getting more comitted to training. And, I'd like to feel accountable to someone something somewhere to force me to do it so I'm back to blogging about it.
In addition to the marathon, I'm training for my CPAT (firefighter test). Which requires about average strength and conditioning for a guy. Guys tend to be faster and stronger (on average) than women are, so it's a bit of a task for me.
Anyway, title/subject says it all. Got up around 6:15-6:30 and made it out for a run. Went up the hill, down by the firehouse, up around near rip and then back home. Decent time, but have no idea the mileage.

11/26/07
I was supposed to get up in the AM and run with Jen. I did get up, but it was pouring so we called it off. I went out after work and wound up at the fire house post run learning how to use a mask/air tank. And then I went on my first call in fire fighter gear. The run actually felt really good. I could have and maybe should have kept going for another few miles, but my body has felt pretty sore/achy since the Christmas tree unloading sunday so I figured better to err on the safe side.
